Tears of the Lonely Army of the Golden Triangle
Synopsis
At the junction of Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos lies the “Golden Triangle,” a vast forested region once rich in gold and gemstones but long turned into a lawless frontier shaped by conflict and the drug trade. After the Chinese Civil War ended in 1949, a remnant force of the Republic of China army retreated into this region. Led by General Li Mi, the “Yunnan Anti-Communist National Salvation Army” grew from a small unit into a several-thousand-strong force, but remained isolated in the jungle, ultimately becoming a “lost army.”
